NEW YORK (SPINews) -- Billionaire oilman William Koch is suing a California wine merchant over the purchase of $320,000 of rare French wines that were bogus.
The two cases of mixed reds, some supposedly dating back to 1865, were bottled recently -- but with vintage labels.
"It was vinegar," groused Mr. Koch, his breath reeking of Balsamic.
"Sour grapes!" said Eric Greenberg, who sold him the wine. "He bought the stuff 'as is'."
Koch is the lesser known brother of David and Charles, the right-wing billionaires who tried to buy the 2012 national election.
He told SPINews, referring to his bros: "I'm not the only one who sank a fortune into expensive fakes."
