STOCKHOLM (SPINews) -- IKEA, vendor of bookshelves to the world, apparently decided that to peddle its "Billys" in Saudi Arabia it better Photoshop those pesky women out of its catalogue photos.
For western consumption, the catalogue shows a family, including a young woman, in pajamas and standing at a bathroom mirror.
In Riyadh she’s gone.
Now IKEA admits the goof and says it’s not part of “IKEA Group values."
In its new catalogues bound for the Middle East, all women now wear burkas.
Sadly, several IKEA catalogues showing women trickled into a few Arab capitals, igniting yet more violent protests including trashing computer desks and torching bookshelves and yelling, "Death to coffee tables you gotta assemble!"
